Born and raised in Taranaki, Peter Kelly comes from rural pedigree. He has owned several dairy farms and been involved in the livestock servicing industry for the past 30 years. Peter not only has an in-depth understanding of the needs of farmers, but long-standing relationships in the rural industry established over many years. His core values of hard work, integrity and total commitment underpin all of his undertakings, and his vast network of contacts has proven be a great asset to him in his role as a member of the Bayleys Country team.
Peter has already achieved some impressive goals in the first six years of his real estate career, since he was the recipient of the Bayleys national “Rookie of the Year Award” in 2017/18, an outstanding result as he was up against country, residential and commercial divisions from across New Zealand. He has produced more than $300 million in property sales and sits within the Top 5% of Bayley’s salespeople nationally.
Peter has a genuine warmth for, and affinity with rural folk and enjoys working with them. An affable person with brilliant communication skills and a highly professional business approach, Peter is well-respected for his ability to provide sound advice. Peter knows the rural mind-set and recognises the challenges facing the farming community. He has been able to forge trusted and long-standing relationships with his real estate clients which supports his focus to ensure maximum value is achieved on every property sale he is involved in.
The rural industry is in the Kelly blood. The family has landholdings in Taranaki and Peter's father was general manager for a livestock service company for many years. His oldest son is a builder and Quantity Surveyor working in Hamilton, his daughter is a qualified veterinarian working in emergency care, and his youngest son Angus Kelly is now working with him selling real estate after getting his salesperson license and finishing a four year degree in land and property management at Lincoln University majoring in rural valuations. The Kelly’s currently reside in Te Kowhai and have a maize block on the outskirts of Hamilton. They are actively involved in the Te Kowhai community where Juliet taught for many years at the local school and Peter, a former Chairman of the school's board of trustees, has headed numerous fundraisers and is a Bayleys ‘Super Giver’ with regular donations to the Bayleys foundation who support numerous foundations.
Having sold numerous rural properties for his own family, Peter knows what it's like to be on the other side of the fence. He is proud to be aligned with Bayley’s Country division, a leading real estate agency with expertise in marketing farms and lifestyles throughout New Zealand.
